How SkyGuard Works

The SkyGuard Unit

A small SkyGuard unit (about the size of a bar of soap) is permanently installed in each fleet vehicle.

Using wireless technology, the SkyGuard unit transmits data on vehicle status through our secure network as often as every 15 seconds. Even under poor signal conditions, SkyGuard's assisted GPS provides accurate data delivery across our extensive wireless network.

The unit has input/output connectors that enable you to monitor and control your vehicles' systems. One connector can be customized to monitor the input/output of a system of your choice, such as ignition status, door locks, or the lift on a tow truck.

Fleet Monitoring

Authorized users can log on to the SkyGuard password-protected website from virtually any desktop PC, anywhere, anytime. Through an easy-to-use, web-based interface, users can view the current and past location and status of all fleet vehicles.

The SkyGuard map screen automatically resizes to show the position of all vehicles at one time, so users can see the status of their entire fleet at a glance!

Customized Options

Simple menu-based screens allow fleet managers to set up authorized users, customize alerts and create reports. There are no limitations on the number of vehicles, separate units, or users authorized to access the data.

Reports can be produced from any data which the system monitors, and data can even be exported to other applications to easily integrate with existing reporting systems.

Advanced Technology

SkyGuard tracks your asset, not your employee. The device is hardwired, which deters disabling or removal from the vehicle, and unlike many competing products, SkyGuard utilizes multiple major wireless networks for superior coverage.
